First public UAP hearing in over 50 years. Pentagon officials confirm 400+ reports on record, show two declassified videos, and acknowledge an unresolved metallic sphere. Institutional denial ends.

2023

The turning point. A former intelligence official testifies under oath that the U.S. holds craft of non-human origin and recovered non-human biologics. Active-duty pilots describe near-daily encounters. The government's own AARO office calls it "no credible evidence" — three months before being directly contradicted.

2024

Escalation. Former DoD officials confirm crash retrieval and reverse-engineering programs by name. A whistleblower report names a classified SAP called "Immaculate Constellation." A Navy email about near-miss collisions is confirmed to have been erased from servers overnight. AARO simultaneously resolves iconic cases and discloses new unsolved ones.

2025

Video evidence enters the record. A previously classified MQ-9 Reaper infrared video — showing a Hellfire missile fired at a UAP orb — is released publicly during a hearing. Military veterans testify about suppressed reports and career retaliation.

Legislative Watch

NDAA FY2026 — S.2296In Senate

Contains S.Amdt.3111 (Schumer) — a third attempt to pass mandatory UAP declassification and a Records Review Board through the annual defense bill. The same provisions passed the Senate in 2023 but were stripped in House-Senate conference.

UAP Transparency Act — H.R.1187In committee

Requires declassification of all government UAP records within 25 years of creation, modeled on the JFK Records Act. Creates a UAP Records Review Board with subpoena power. 118th Congress version died without a hearing.

UAP Whistleblower Protection Act — H.R.5060In committee

Explicitly protects federal employees, contractors, and military personnel who report UAP-related information to Congress from retaliation, termination, or loss of security clearance.

UAP-related bills rarely pass as standalone legislation. The NDAA is the primary vehicle — but provisions inserted in the Senate are routinely stripped before final passage.

How Congress works

Hearing

A committee session where witnesses testify under oath. Can be public or classified (SCIF). Hearings are how Congress gathers evidence before legislating — or pressures agencies to act without legislating.

Briefing

An informal session where officials or experts present information to members of Congress. Not a formal hearing — witnesses are not sworn in and there is typically no public record.

NDAA

National Defense Authorization Act — passed every year since 1961, it funds the entire US military. It's the most important vehicle for UAP legislation because it's too big to ignore and politically difficult to kill.

Amendment

A change proposed to an existing bill. UAP provisions are often inserted as amendments to large must-pass vehicles like the NDAA rather than introduced as standalone bills — where they can be stripped in conference.
