UAP News Briefing — Monday, May 25, 2026

The Pentagon's PURSUE Release 02, distributed in May 2026, has added four videos from a 2021 Iraq incident and a 1080p recording from Kazakhstan in March 2022 to the public record. Rep. Tim Burchett stated the releases have increased congressional engagement with UAP topics, though he criticized the government for withholding sensitive material while releasing easily identifiable content. Analysis from astrophysicist Avi Loeb and independent researchers continues on the released materials, with some claiming certain videos show birds or ice crystals rather than unidentified phenomena. A review of video PR-071 identified poor redactions exposing hidden metadata and operator information. Public sightings of unusual aerial objects continue to be reported, including a formation of seven white orbs over the Netherlands.
