UAP News Briefing — Friday, June 5, 2026

The Department of Defense released a declassified military video from August 24, 2020, showing a UAP observation recorded by a named military asset. The video was released by AARO in May 2026 as part of the DOW-UAP-PR090 document batch. In commentary on the broader disclosure landscape, Lue Elizondo reflected on nearly a decade of public advocacy for UAP transparency, noting the irreversibility of recent policy shifts. Elizondo's prominence in the disclosure movement stems from his role following the 2017 New York Times reporting on the Pentagon's Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program.
